I do not know what everyone is talking about with regards to Oppo going away again, but sounds pretty real this time, so I will show the photos from the rally we just went on from Moorpark to Parkfeild, CA.

Our Route

The rainy start

We found snow

Unknown phone corruption

dirty, abused, and satisfied.

It was a great time out with people and driving fun roads. Everyone stayed Covid safe and still had a great time. Took us through lots of rain and even some snow. I have to say this was a great change of pace to what has been a very meh year.

I am heartbroken that Oppo is leaving as this is how I even got started knowing some of the rally people, but I suppose the writing was on the wall. On to the next site and the rest of our adventures.

Man, I wish we had those kind of events here...most car events around here are over an hour away from me and most of my friends aren’ t car people, so it’s just me! :(

As for Oppo, yeah....Jalopnik staff (including our own alumni Mercedes Streeter) confirmed that Oppo is locked as of November 10th and wiped as of November 16th from what we are hearing :(

Im lurking over on DriveTribe but very interested in upcoming rally dates. I’m based down in San Diego County these days but would have been all over a Moorpark to Parkfield run... do you guys post a website anywhere to keep tabs?

No, no website. They are done via email and posts on insta.

There is an LA/SoCal Oppo email list for when Oppo does stuff, this isn’t an Oppo group rally, but affiliated by members being Oppos

I know we had Discord last time (it’s a chat server, not really a site) and the Oppo Facebook group has been around for a long time, but I don’t remember us having another ‘site’ per se...?

That domain still exists and is owned by Oppo ‘Brian, The Life Of’ - I don’t think he’s had time to work on the site though. JMiner’s been working on his NodeBB replacement and if everybody likes it enough, it may become our replacement, in which case it may migrate to that www.oppositelock.com domain.

They had a ton of fun in both the rain and the snow! Though we both took our time through the cold snow as our summer tires were not too excited.
